History

Advanced Industrial Services, Inc. was formed on July 20, 1984. The primary aspiration was to provide industry with a superior rigging and millwright service by combining highly skilled personnel with the best available equipment. In addition, special consideration must be given to project scheduling and provided at a fair market price.

Within the first three years, AIS not only established itself as a renowned rigging and millwright contractor, but also expanded to offering turnkey equipment installations and relocations. The idea of “turnkey” all inclusive equipment installations and relocations was a new concept to our client base, making AIS a pioneer in this procedural development. Select pre-qualified process piping and electrical sub-contractors were initially utilized to team with our in-house rigging and millwright crews, providing our customers with an option for a complete service agreement. Eventually, the sub-contract need was eliminated by developing our own staff of trained and experienced pipefitters, electricians and metal fabricators. Having all trades under one roof quickly enabled AIS to become more flexible to our customers’ scheduling needs and much more cost effective on a project basis. It did not take long for many customers to realize the many benefits of contracting AIS as their “One Source” supplier for equipment installation and relocation needs.

Also within the first three years of operation, a 40,000+ square foot facility was purchased on 5.1 acres in York, Pennsylvania. After building new offices and completing many other renovations, this facility now serves as our corporate and operating headquarters and also houses our Fabrication Shop. The AIS Fabrication Shop was implemented just after occupying the main facility in York, to compliment the needs of the field installation crews for their steel fabrication requirements. The shop has since grown from a limited 3,000 square foot operation to a full service specialty fabrication shop occupying over 30,000 square feet.

AIS Graphic Services, Inc., an associate to Advanced Industrial Services, Inc., was established in 1987 to better identify the web and sheetfed printing press installation and relocation services offered to local, national, and international graphic customers.

In July of 1999, a nearby 25,000 square foot building was purchased to serve as the primary equipment storage warehouse. Subsequently, an additional 34,000 square foot warehouse was added providing a climate controlled facility for utilization as a secondary storage warehouse.

In early 2005, AIS purchased the assets of OEM Graphic Services, Inc. located in Schaumburg, Illinois. In the following two years, all of the former OEM business assets, equipment, and tooling were consolidated within the AIS headquarters operations, further enhancing the employee base, equipment inventory, and customer source.

In 2009, AIS purchased the assets of Campbell Brothers, Inc. also located in York, PA. Similar to the OEM acquisition, those assets have also been consolidated within the AIS operations further enhancing the employee, equipment, and customer basis.

On December 15, 2015, AIS was purchased by Cemtrex, Inc.
